Minutes

 

Vice President Hyde called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance at 7:30 p.m.

Vice President Hyde conducted the Welcome and Introduction of Guests.  Those in attendance

Approval of Agenda

Motion by Williams, support by Beaudreau that the September 10th, 2007 agenda be approved as printed.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Approval of Minutes

Motion by Williams, support by Beaudreau that the Board approves the minutes of the regular meeting of August 13th, 2007 as printed.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Communication to the Board

 

Written Correspondence was circulated around the table at the beginning of the Board Meeting.

 

Comments and Concerns of Citizens Presents

 

 

Good News About Our Schools                             

 

            Community Education - Mr. Garcia

      needed to find a job.  We currently have 15 adults participating in this program.

 

 

 

 

Elementary School - Mrs. Cherry

 

Middle School – Mr. Avery

 

High School - Mr. Grifka

 

Technology Director – Mr. Barnaby

 

Buildings, Grounds, and Transportation - Mr. Wolfe

 

SuperintendentÕs Informational Report

 

High School MME Scores – Mr. Mungall reported on the results of the spring 2007 exam.

 

Schools of Choice 07-08 – Mr. Mungall shared the numbers from this yearÕs program.  There was a net loss of 2 students.

 

Teacher In-service Report – Mr. Mungall shared that the teacher in-service received mixed

reviews.

 

Sinking Fund Update – Feedback from the community on the upcoming election has been

positive.  The election date is Tuesday, November 6, 2007

 

 

 

Board of Education Reports and/or Action

Accept Gift from Fulton Athletic Boosters – The Fulton Athletic Boosters, represented tonight

by Daryl Trefil, donated a golf cart to the school.

Motion by Beaudreau, support by Williams that the Board accepts the gift of a golf cart purchased by the Fulton Athletic Boosters as presented.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Recommendations of the Superintendent

 

Annual Education Report

Motion by Williams, support by Beaudreau that the Board schedule Monday, October 8th, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in the High School Media Center for the Annual Education Report to the community.  Motion carried unanimously.

Motion by Williams, support by Blair that the Board approves the Schedule B

recommendations for the 2007-2008 school year as presented.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

 

High School Custodian

Motion by Beaudreau, support by Williams that the Board employs Doug Powell as

full time high school custodian for the 2008-2008 school year as presented.  Motion carried

unanimously.

 

EMPLOYEE RESIGNATIONS

 

Music Teacher

Motion by Beaudreau, support by Williams that the Board accepts with regret the resignation from Laura Hyler as FultonÕs K-12 Music Teacher as presented.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Financial Statements and Bills

Motion by Beaudreau, support by Williams, that the August Financial Statements for the Food Service in the amount of $352.00, for Athletics in the amount of $14,547.53, for the invoices in the amount of $283,115.46, and for the payroll in the amount $393,960.00 be paid.  Motion carried unanimously.
