District School Improvement Team Minutes

Members present: Bearden, Baker, Konieczka, Postema, Goodspeed, Youmans, Misenhelder, Thelen, Mungall, Hauck, Bongard, S. Walden, T. Walden, Sheahan, Salogar, Grifka, Avery, Whitman

I. The meeting was called to order.

II. The agenda was approved.

III. The minutes from last May’s meeting were approved.

IV. Departmental News –

a. Middle school science teachers are receiving a $1,000 grant as a result of professional development done this summer. They hope to buy equipment with this money. Also it was mentioned that Forest Hill Nature Center trips are available for students.

b. Language Arts asked what is happening with text book orders for next year and it was determined that the district is “moving forward” with plans to obtain new books and teachers should plan on this.

V. Administration-

a. Mr. Grifka: presented SIT plans for both high and middle schools.

b. Mr. Avery: said that SIT plans are coming out soon.

c. Mr. Mungall: presented School Improvement flow sheet as well as District School Improvement Plan handouts. He also added that student count was at 710.2 students and that the school had planned on 710.
