Special Education Committee Minutes

September 9, 2009

Call to Order:  The meeting was called to order at 2:05 by Nancy Bongard

Attendance:  Janae Yeomans, Kevin Sherrick, and Nancy Bongard

Update on Special Education Issues:  All paper forms for Special Education are to be thrown away.  From now on all forms must come from online.

Fulton and Ashley Schools have not been assigned a new school psychologist since the retirement of Judy Wing.  These schools will be sent a psychologist on an as needed basis.

Discussed the educational needs of the students transitioning from one level to the next in our programs in Fulton.  Individual goals and objectives need to be met for each student.

Concerns:  The Providers List of Students  that comes periodically from the RESD has many errors on it. A corrected list has to be sent back and the RESD does not send a corrected list back in a timely manner.

There was not enough time to discuss and practice online Medicaid Billing.  This is on the agenda for next month.
